Haraz Coffee House in SF is a pretty cool spot in the city if you're into coffee with a twist. They serve traditional Yemeni drinks and super tasty spiced lattes that are totally different from your basic Starbucks order. The vibe inside is really cozy but also kinda stylish, with colorful decor and a chill atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. It's definitely a great place to catch up with friends, get a late-night coffee, or even do a little people-watching.

One of the best things about Haraz is that they stay open late, which is honestly a game-changer. Most coffee shops close super early, but this place keeps the lights on into the night. So whether you're cramming for a test, meeting up with someone after dinner, or just craving a warm drink at 10 PM, Haraz is there. It's like the ultimate late-night hangout spot that still feels safe and welcoming.

A huge thing that kind of turned me away though is the amount of people that are always in there—this place gets packed. Usually, that would mean that the coffee is to die for, but honestly, I kind of felt that it was overpriced and pretty mid. It can be hard to find a seat even on random weekday nights. Sometimes it’s so crowded you’re just awkwardly standing around with your drink, hoping someone leaves soon, and that is the worst. The lines can get long too, and it can get extremely loud if you're trying to study or just talk to a friend next to you. When I was there last, there was a group of millennials that had brought together four tables and were all playing a game together at 10 pm at genuinely max volume. It's clear that everyone loves the spot, but it definitely loses a bit of its cozy vibe when it's overflowing with people.

Still, if you’re down for a little chaos and don’t mind the crowds, Haraz is 100% worth checking out. The drinks are good, their baklava is amazing, the late hours are a major win, and the energy is always buzzing. Just maybe don’t show up expecting peace and quiet—unless you get super lucky with timing.
